Acaí bowl mango, banana, spinach

Hello everybody!! Summer is over but here in Arizona the sun is still burning.

Today I want to share one of my favorites breakfast/desserts , aside from my smoothies and oats that I love. Açaí bowls are one of my favorites so far .They contains vitamin A, vitamin E and vitamin C. Açaí berries contain calcium, iron, potassium and sodium.

Açaí berry is a grape-like fruit harvested from açaí palm trees, native to the rainforests of South America. You can find açaí in the form of frozen smoothie packs or freeze dried powder.

Now let's get to the fun part. You can customized your bowl according to your diet. Acai bowls are prepared basically like a smoothie. You toss it in the blender, add your favorite fruit, veggies add milk, water or coconut water and you are set. If you are feeling creative you can add coconut flakes, chia seeds, nuts, cacao nibs, maca etc.

Try to make your bowl as balanced as you can by adding protein, vegetables. If you add too much fruits it can become full of sugars, and that is something I try to avoid.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 banana

  • 1 cup frozen chunks mango

  • 1 pack of acai

  • 1 cup spinach

  • 1/4 milk

Toppings:

1/2 banana

raspberries

shredder coconut

shredder dark chocolate

blueberries

chia seeds

DIRECTIONS

1. Add all your ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth.

2. Pour mixture into a bowl and add your toppings.

3. Eat immediately and enjoy!!
