Homemade sugar scrub

Hi everybody!

I want to share with you one of my favorite sugar scrub recipes.

Two years ago my sister in law gave me a jar of homemade sugar scrub as a Christmas present. After one year of having the jar sitting on my counter (yeah that's how long it took me to start using it) I though I would give it a try and I can not believe how smooth and silky my skin got after applying it.

Sugar scrubs will exfoliate dry areas of your body, help with blood circulation, and help with deep cleaning of the dry areas. On top of all these benefits it also smells amazing!! I don't know why I didn't try it before! I was always hesitant to buy the ones at commercial stores because of all the chemicals they add. With this recipe I can make my own and save money and then I know with ingredients are going into it. WIN, WIN!! I encourage you to try it!

Sugar scrub essential oils

  • 1 cup of sugar (any type of sugar will do, I used coconut sugar because that is what I had in my pantry)

  • 1/4 almond oil

  • 1 tbsp. vitamin E oil

  • 5 drops of peppermint essential oil

  • 5 drops of lemon essential oil

Mix everything in a bowl then add it to a container with a lid. You can use it at the end of your shower. Just add it to your wet skin and scrub with a circular motion where needed. Then rinse with water and shine!!! :)
